Installing From The Store

The easiest option for installing a WordPress plugin is to use the plugin store on your Dashboard. The only downside of this is that it is specifically for free plugins. However, here are the steps.

Step 1 – Visit Plugins

Visit the plugin store page by going to Plugins and then ‘Add New’ on your WordPress admin area.

Step 2 – Search For Your Plugin

Now using the search option in the top right corner, enter in the name of the plugin or feature you want to install. Then you will see a list of the plugins that are applicable.

Step 3 – Pick Your Plugin

Find the plugin that suits your needs and click on the ‘Install Now’ option. WordPress will automatically install the plugin for you. Once installed you can click on the ‘Activate’ button to start using it.

Installing It Manually

Next you can install a plugin using a zip file. This is a manual installation and is best used when you’ve bought a premium plugin.

Step 1 – Visit Plugins

Visit the plugin store page by going to Plugins and then ‘Add New’ on your WordPress admin area.

Step 2 – Upload Plugin

Next click on the ‘Upload Plugin’ option on the page. You will then be taken to a page where you need to click on the ‘Choose File’ option and then find and upload the plugin.

Step 3 – Install

Once you’ve gone back to the ‘Upload Plugin’ screen you can click on the ‘Install now’ option. This will install the plugin and then you can activate the plugin on the Plugins page.

Final Word

Ensure that you’re getting the best website you can by adding functionality to your website with the best plugins on WordPress. Use the two methods above to add plugins to your website.
