How to Add Downloadable PDF to WordPress Elementor

There are numerous reasons why you will want to use a PDF and not another document type. For instance, you might want to offer a booking form or invoice via PDF and you need to ensure that the customer or user cannot change the document.

Another reason might be that PDFs can be read on numerous software packages and devices. Whereas other file formats can be specific to set software. For example, some people don’t use Microsoft Word or don’t have this on their mobile devices.

In addition, PDFs can look more professional than other document file types.

It is a relatively easy process to add a PDF download button using Elementor. Here are the instructions that you can easily follow.

The first step is to log into your website using your normal user credentials.

The next step is to add media to your WordPress library. This is done by going to the Media option, then Library, and finally, ‘Add New’. You will be taken to the Upload New Media Screen.

From this point, you need to click on the ‘Select Files’ button and then you will need to find the PDF on your website and upload it to your website with ease.

Now you need to get the PDF file link that is attached to the document that you just installed. In the media library, you can click on the document and it will bring up the Attachment details page, which is located on the right side of the screen. You can find the link and then just copy that link.

To ensure that you have a copy, you can paste it into a text document to save it.

Now you can go to the page where you would like to add the PDF document download button. And then you can bring up Elementor with the option ‘Edit with Elementor’ option.

Now you can select the button option from the left side panel and then drag and drop into the page, exactly where you would like it to appear on the website page.

You can change the name of the button as soon as the button is seen, this will appear from the left side panel.

Now you need to set the different button types. There is an option link where you just have to paste the PDF link.

Then you can publish the post/page. You can check how the button works by looking at your website.
