WordPress coupons and deals, with the date we checked each one

Every discount on this page has a date on it: the day a human here last opened the offer and confirmed it was still real. That is the whole difference between this page and the hundreds of WordPress coupon pages still showing codes that died in 2022. If we have not checked something recently, it says so, and it sinks down the list rather than sitting at the top pretending to be live.

How we make money: some of the links below are affiliate links, so we earn a commission if you buy. It does not change what you pay, and it does not decide what gets listed. We list good deals from companies we earn nothing from, and we have left vendors off when the offer was not worth your time.

How to tell a real WordPress discount from a fake one

Most of what gets called a discount on WordPress products is not one. These are the four that catch people out most often, in the order they cost you money. They apply to every listing on this page, including ours.

The renewal price is the real price

Hosting and most plugins discount the first term only. A host at $2.99 a month renewing at $11.99 is a first-year offer, not a price, and if you bought a 12-month term you meet the full figure a year later with your site already on it. Before you buy, find the renewal number. It is always published, and it is never the number in the advert.

A percentage off a price nobody pays is not a discount

The oldest trick in the category: set a list price that has never been charged, then take 70% off it. The test takes ten seconds. Open the product's normal pricing page in another tab and compare what you would actually pay today against what the offer says you would pay. If the two are close, the discount is decoration.

Check the licence tier, not the headline

The deepest discount is usually on the single-site tier, and the tier most people need is one or two above it. A 60% saving on a licence that covers one site is worth less than a 30% saving on the one that covers your five. Count your sites first, then read the offer.

A bundle is only cheap if you wanted the contents

Membership bundles and all-in-one packs show the largest percentages because they total up products you were never going to buy. Work out the price of the one thing you actually came for, and compare that.

Questions people ask about WordPress coupon codes

Do WordPress coupon codes actually work, or are they all dead?

Most of the ones you find are dead. Coupon sites are built to rank, not to be correct, so an expired code stays on the page because removing it would cost them traffic. The fix is not a better coupon site, it is a date: if a listing does not tell you when somebody last checked it, assume nobody has. Every listing on this page carries that date, and the ones we have not checked in 60 days are marked and pushed down.

When is the best time to buy WordPress hosting or plugins?

The deepest discounts of the year land in late November, and the back half of December is the next best window. Outside those, the standard price is usually the price, with two exceptions worth knowing: hosting companies discount hardest when you commit to a longer term, at any time of year, and most plugin shops run something in the spring. If you need the thing now, waiting eight months to save twenty per cent is a bad trade. If you are merely tempted, waiting is free.

Is a 75% off hosting deal as good as it sounds?

Usually not, because the discount applies to the first term only. A host advertising 75% off at $2.99 a month will often renew at $11.99, and if you bought a 12-month term you face the full price a year later. The deal is still real, it is just a first-year discount rather than a permanent price. Buy the longest term you are confident about, and check the renewal figure before you pay, not after.

Do I need a coupon code or is the discount automatic?

It is split roughly evenly, and it matters: shoppers abandon a checkout hunting for a code that was never needed. Where a code exists, it is on the card above. Where the discount applies on its own, the card says "no code needed" rather than leaving an empty box, which is the single most common reason people think a deal is broken.

Why do you list deals you earn nothing from?

Because a list that only contains the companies paying us is worth nothing to you, and you can tell. We earn a commission on some of the links here and nothing at all on others, and that has no bearing on whether an offer is listed or where it sits. When a genuinely good deal comes from a company with no affiliate programme, it goes on the page anyway.

How do you decide what counts as a good deal?

A real discount off the normal price, on something we would use or have reviewed, with terms a buyer can actually check. That rules out the two most common kinds of fake offer: a "discount" off a list price nobody has ever paid, and a bundle that is cheaper only because it includes products you did not want. Where we have reviewed the product, the card links to the review, and the review is not written to sell the deal.
